Setting — Noank Village Boatyard is on the port (western) side of the Mystic River, just outside Beebe Cove, hard by the railroad tracks. Landside, the marina has created an attractive, exceedingly well-maintained club-like atmosphere. The views across Mystic Harbor from the docks are of an active waterway. A contemporary, shingled, glass front building -- with steeply pitched-roof -- is one of its landmarks.

Marina Notes — Knowledgeable and service-oriented staff. 50 new wood floating docks with new pedestals and finger piers create wider-than-normal slips. Extensive mooring field with complimentary club-quality launch service (complete with dog) - Ch.72. Gas grills with picnic area. *2 New pump-out facilities in 2001- self operated ($5) or yard-operated ($15). Nice tile heads. Several charter fishing boats make their home here. Family owned and operated since 1972. In 1997, founder Bob Helbig, Jeff Marshall, owner of Sailing Specialties, and two partners, bought Mystic Shipyard. They've combined the staff, facilities and services of all three to create Mystic Shipyard, LLC. Fairly recently, they also bought Mystic Cove Marina and renamed it Mystic Shipyard East.

Notable — Quiet, historic Noank Village, a classic 19thC maritime community with some nicely restored houses, is an easy and pleasant walk. A couple of modest provisioning resources (Universal, Village Bakery, Carson's) are there, too. It's a reasonable dinghy ride to Downtown Mystic, which has a wide assortment of eateries and shops along Main Street on both sides of the bascule bridge. It's a considerably longer dinghy ride up the river to justly famous Mystic Seaport and Maritime Museum - suggest one of the local cabs. Antique boat parade - late July; Mystic Arts Festival - 1st weekend in August.
